High school is a hectic time for teenagers. There’s a mixture of people who have their entire post-graduation life planned while others are still shrugging. Especially for seniors, the main question on everyone’s mind is, “What comes next?”
Senior Ermin Sabovic has already planned out his dream career.
“My ideal career focus after college would be to be a full-time real estate agent,” said Sabovic. “I see myself as someone who would enjoy the sales aspect of business because I enjoy communicating with people and real estate agents don’t have a set schedule like typical 9-5 jobs.”
Others feel similarly to junior Maelen Collet: they’re still figuring everything out. “I’m actually not sure, but what I want to do is just travel the world, and then figure out what I want to do,” he said.
Senior Lila Ferber has part of her future path mapped out.
“After college I am planning on being in the Army Reserves for eight years, and after that I don’t really know,” she said.
Principal Alicia Pérez-Katz was unsure of what she wanted to become when she was this age.
“I wasn’t sure. I loved English so I knew I was going to major in English, but I wasn’t quite sure,” she said. “I always wanted to help and make a difference.”
Eventually, it seems, she found herself where she belongs.
