Following the dissatisfactory opening game of the season for the boys soccer team, the Blue Devils fought hard for a well-earned win last Thursday, Sept. 19, against Manhattan Village Academy.
Opening the game, none other than junior Andriy Fitak was the man there to slot a pass from Maelan Collet, a senior.
Fitak says “After playing ElRo, I wanted to come back strong and harsh[…]the first goal was really nice and set the attitude for the rest of the match.”
Collet on assisting said, “what can I say; they call me Mr. Mbappe for a reason. I’m from France, of course I know how to ball[…]I supplied a world class assist, and my boy [Andriy] delivered.”
Unfortunately MVA set their marks with a goal, bringing the score to 1-1.
Shortly after, Fitak again put one between the woodwork, making the Blue Devils on top once again.
After the full time whistle, Baruch finally had a win to their name, their record being 4-1 at the time after the game.
Their next game is against Middle College, on Sept. 26.
